Conwy Suspension Bridge and Toll house | View Attraction Details
description
The smaller 1826 version of the Menai Suspension Bridge, both built by Thomas Telford. The bridge was at the cutting edge of technology 180 years ago. It was in daily use until the 1950s. Imagine when this was the only bridge carrying traffic west of conwy - and every vehicle had to stop and pay sixpence. The toll house has been restored and furnished as it would have been in the 1890s. You might even spot one of the old toll keepers - another Conwy ghost.
