July opening for Oriel Kyffin Williams
01/05/2008
Construction work on the new gallery, dedicated to the life and works of one of Wales' greatest ever artists, is well underway. It will be officially opened by Lady Anglesey, with the unveiling followed by a series of special events, including a public open day.
Oriel Kyffin Williams will serve as a fitting tribute to the man's artistic achievement as well as a permanent home for more than 400 donated works of art.
Sir Kyffin Williams himself was wholly supportive and enthusiastic about the project. He was involved from the outset in the location and design of the gallery and the project as a whole. His ideas and suggestions have been incorporated into the plans, which received his seal of approval before his death on September 1st, 2006.
Construction of the £1.5 million gallery is being undertaken by R.L.Davies & Son Ltd.
