Hearts of stone to celebrate special days for lovers
With two very romantic days in horizon - St Dwynwen's Day (25th January) and St Valentine's Day (14th of February) why not make a visit to the National Slate Museum, Llanberis, to get a unique gift for your loved one - a handcrafted slate heart?
The slate hearts are unique to the museum and are made by the museum's demonstrating quarrymen, as Marketing Officer Julie Williams explained:
"Our Quarrymen have been making the slate hearts for a few years now and they are always popular with our visitors as unique gifts. They are very versatile and can be used as mini cards, gift tags or even wedding favours. The new larger size available (5") can be used as coasters or wall plaques".
For anyone calling into the Museum on St Dwynwen's Day itself, 25th January 2010 - there will be a free heart shaped chocolate with every cuppa in the cafe!
